A note from our owner, Kelsey Harrison:

As the impact of COVID-19 continues, I wanted you to hear directly from me about the mitigation efforts that Oh Happy Day Booth has enacted to reduce the risk of infection of our team members, our clients, and their guests. My focus remains on supporting our Oh Happy Day Booth team, while at the same time doing my part to preserve the health, safety, and well-being of all those with whom we come in contact.

I think it is extremely safe to assume that everyone has been significantly impacted by COVID-19 in one way or another. The entire photo booth industry relies on a healthy events industry, and the events industry relies on the ability for us to be able to come together as a community and celebrate special days. As we look toward the future and anticipate what it holds for us, we at Oh Happy Day Booth work every day to ensure the level of customer service our clients are accustomed to is not diminished.

We continue to closely monitor and assess this evolving situation, and any changes in company policies and procedures regarding COVID-19 precautions will be based on scientific studies and official reports, and any changes we make will be updated here. I can’t emphasize just how much I am itching to get back to celebrating in full swing, and I am making sure that we are able to get to that point as safely as possible by expanding and refining our safety policies. If you have any personal questions requirements or preferences, please email me at hello@ohhappydaybooth.com and we will do our best to accommodate within reason.

  1. Masks // In addition to their usual all-black and white attire, our staff will be required to wear masks at all times while on the property for an event.

  2. Portrait Booth and Glam Booth activations // For the foreseeable future, our team members will monitor the photo booth from afar, keeping an eye on the booth at all times, but limiting direct interactions with guests. Your point of contact will always know where our team member is located, and the team member will be there in a flash if something happens like the printer paper and ink need replenishing! We love our clients, and care about their guests, and want to be there to support them on their big day and by physically distancing our team members from the booth itself, we are able to make sure they are healthy for our couples the following weekend as well. To accommodate this distancing, we have changed and optimized our start screen graphics for these services so the photo booth process is seamless and straightforward to ensure guests are able to use the booths without the hands-on assistance of a team member.

  3. Sanitized Selfie Stations // Our Selfie Station rentals will operate as usual, but our staff will sanitize everything before the event begins and at the end of the rental.

  4. No props // We know this is a significant bummer, but there is no feasible way to properly sanitize every prop between guests, so we will be foregoing props for the foreseeable future. Clients who have this upgrade as part of their package are encouraged to choose another upgrade as an alternative!

  5. Photo guest books // For clients who would like to stick with their photo guest book, guests can pick up a clean pen from one bin and put it into one labeled ‘used’ when they are done. Pens will be sanitized between events.

  6. Sanitizing all equipment before and after events // All our equipment will be sanitized before and after events, and all our boxes and equipment will be sanitized inside our storage facility as well.

  7. Increased pay // All of our team members providing services at events are doing so with the utmost caution to ensure your guests have a great time. During this season and for the foreseeable future, Oh Happy Day Booth has increased their hourly rate without raising client costs. If you feel so compelled, any and all tips given to the booth attendants during events will be retained by the team member working the event, and would be greatly appreciated.

What we are requesting from our clients:

  1. Masks // Please encourage your guests to wear masks. This has been proven by the CDC to protect other people from getting sick if you are sick, even when asymptomatic. This is a really wonderful way to respect your hardworking vendors whose lives depend on being able to work events every weekend.

  2. Set up location // If it is possible to put us away from the dance floor and other major foot traffic spots, that is ideal.

  3. Following the CDC’s minimum standard health protocols // We know rules are no fun, but they’re here to protect us all. Please encourage your guests, planner, vendors, and venue to follow appropriate guidelines regarding large events.

Feathers & Frosting Cake Tasting Event

Cake for breakfast? Sign us the heck up.

We’ve done two cake tasting events for Danae at Feathers and Frosting, and without fail we always leave with a car seat full of cake on the drive home (most of which won’t make it past the end of the week). We were so excited to be a part of this event and work alongside such amazing vendors. We knew we wanted to use the white brick wall as the photo booth backdrop for our selfie station set up. We’re big supporters fo a sleek and simple aesthetic. Between photos and boomerangs, the boomerangs were the crowd favorite, and guests decided to use the faux cakes as props!

The Rising Tide Society - 20 On The Rise Finalist

Facebook Twitter B.png

Oh Happy Day Booth is one of the best things I’ve done with my life. I originally started off as a wedding photographer, but I knew my progressive neurological disorder put an expiration date on that career. I wanted to find something that had some more longevity to it, and I knew I could find that in a photo booth business. I jumped in with both feet, and strive to lean in to every experience along the way. As I look back on all that we've accomplished so far, we are honored to have been selected as a finalist for The Rising Tide Society's 20 On The Rise

A huge amount of credit for my success lies with my husband. Peter always says it’s not our business, it’s my business. I guess we can agree to disagree on that one. He’s never once doubted my crazy ideas, and pushes me to pursue those ideas when I have them. He has put equipment in my car countless times when I couldn’t do it myself, has worked bridal shows and open houses when I know he didn’t want to, and has saved my butt more times than I can count. He’s helped me proof read every difficult email I’ve had to send (y’all know the type) and he’s been there when amazing things happen (like 20 On The Rise!). He’s my constant encourager, and there’s no way I could do what I do without him.

I don’t care what anyone else thinks, but I have the best parents. Since day one, they’ve always encouraged both me and my sister when we had ideas or passions. They taught me that regardless of what other people said, if you wanted something badly enough, you can do it. I’m grateful that because of them, growing up I never felt like anything was impossible, and that transferred into adulthood. Mom and Dad have been my faithful sounding boards, my fierce cheerleaders and my saving grace when I made questionably poor decisions starting out.

My sister has always been a leader by example. She is a orthotist/prosthetist in North Carolina. If you don’t know what that is, it’s someone who make prosthetic limbs. Uh-huh. She’s always been the smarty pants of the family, and I’ve always been playing catch up. She inspires me every day as she makes the lives around her so much better, and she’s taught me the value of a good work ethic. She’s also the one that managed to help me swing my first out of state event, which I’ll never forget.

I would be literally nowhere near where I am without my attendants. Their commitment to providing great experiences for guests and their attention to detail have allowed me to stop working 8 days a week and just focus on running the business, which has been my goal all along. They gave me my life and my sanity back. Other photo booth owners have asked me how I’ve managed to find such great attendants, and I have nothing to say other than I must have cashed in all my lucky cards at some point.

The Rising Tide Society’s local Austin chapter has been one of the most valuable tools for me. The community I’ve found through this group is incredible. I’ve made friends and seen other businesses thrive in the competitive Austin market because of this community. When I was starting out, I can’t tell you how many times I posted about needing help at an event and had a bunch of people respond. I found my first attendant, Hope, in the group, and when I needed to start looking for more help, she found Ericka and Kelsey for me. What I’ve gained from RTS is intense and immeasurable and I’m forever grateful.

Fun and Flirty Galentine's Brunch Styled Shoot | Austin Photo Booth

We are so excited to share some fun photo booth images from this styled shoot we did for Galentine's Day! We have an unhealthy obsession with Parks and Rec and just knew we needed to do a brunch shoot this year, and we managed to pull it all together in less than two weeks with lots of help from some amazing vendors. We were published on Every Last Detail blog as well, so check out their post for some gorgeous photos from Kiera Jane Photography!
