Custom Streamer Backdrop for Wildlike Popup in Austin, Texas

We love a crossover event! In January, we got to work with our sister brand Pop & Drop for a one-of-a-kind event! Wildlike is a Dallas based piercing retail experience that traveled down to Austin to throw a popup event at the Peach Bum fitness studio.

According to their site, “The company is focused on personal expression and community and marries the rough edge of tattoo culture with designer jewelry and fashion.”

We couldn’t love that more, and we think this gorgeous event matched their vision perfectly! On the Oh Happy Day Booth side, we set up a custom selfie station photo booth with a bright streamer background.

The guests had a blast showing off their new piercings and bling at the booth. The selfie booth is the perfect do-it-yourself experience with instant digital sharing options.

The streamers were courtesy of our sister brand, Pop & Drop! They also created the custom balloon garland at the entrance. Oh Happy Day Booth and Pop & Drop are both event-based businesses owned by our fearless leader, Kelsey Harrison.

The event was complete with mimosa and fun refreshments like cotton candy and churros. We love how Wildlike decked out the fitness studio with their branding. How cute are the locker covers?

A custom photo booth can turn anything gathering into a party. At Oh Happy Day Booth, we love being part of corporate events, and it’s even more fun to do it with our sister brand! Contact us today to work with us!

Graduation season is right around the corner, so it’s time to start planning graduation parties! If you have a high school senior in your house, the senioritis is probably intense right about now. They’re ready to say goodbye to high school and hello to their future, so you should throw them a send-off that celebrates this monumental moment!

After spending a majority of their high school career in virtual school, this class of high school students deserves an amazing shindig with all of their friends. Keep reading for our unique high school graduation party ideas!

Graduation Photo Booth

As the parent and event planner, you’ve got a lot to do on the day of the party. Leave the photography to the pros by renting a luxury photo booth for the whole day. Not only will you get amazing photos, but it also adds an activity that your party guests will love.

Our selfie station is the perfect option for an Austin, Texas area graduation party. The printed photos are great keepsakes that your graduate and their friends can take to college with them!

At Oh Happy Day Booth, we offer custom luxury backdrops and photo templates so that you can personalize your booth. For example, we can create a custom “Class of 2022” photo template. When it comes to unique high school graduation party ideas, the options are endless with a photo booth!

Honoree Trivia Game With Prizes

How well do your guests know your graduate? Test their knowledge with a trivia game, and make it more enticing with some sweet prizes. Since most of your guests will be your child’s classmates, center the trivia questions around their high school career.

Here are some ideas:

  • What was their favorite class?

  • Who was their favorite teacher?

  • What was their least favorite class?

  • Which elective did they really love?

  • Did they prefer exams or essays?

  • What was their least favorite cafeteria food?

For the prizes, gift cards are always a crowd-pleaser. What could make a Texas high schooler happier than a Whataburger gift card?

“Adulting Survival Kit” Party Favors

While your child is the guest of honor, they won’t be the only soon-to-be high school graduate at the party. Send their friends off with an “adulting survival kit” party favor to celebrate their accomplishment too.

Whether they are heading to college, taking a gap year, or going straight into a job, these items will make them laugh:

  • Tide To Go stain stick

  • Protein bars

  • Candy

  • Earplugs

  • Hand sanitizer

  • Starbucks gift card

  • Mini first aid kit

  • Chapstick

  • Lint roller

Think of these party favors as a blend between a gag gift and an actual practical gift for new grads. They’ll love them!

Make Your Own Dessert Bar

Take your graduate’s favorite dessert and turn it into a dessert bar at their graduation party! Your guests will love making their own delicious creations. For a summertime party, a build your own ice cream sundae is always a huge hit. You could also rent a slushie machine and let guests customize their flavor. If the party is in the evening, a DIY s’mores bar is a great activity!

The way to make unique high school graduation party ideas like this more fun is to customize them around your graduate. For example, incorporate as many of their favorite candies and sweet treats as you can. You can also tie in their high school colors to theme it up.

2022 Cupcake Table

Since we’re on the topic of desserts, another cute idea is to arrange cupcakes in the shape of “2022” on a big dessert table. This is a super easy unique idea that makes a memorable impact on your guests!

Base the Party on the Graduate’s Favorite TV Show or Pop Culture Moment

Graduation parties don’t technically need a theme, but having one can make the party more fun and guide your party planning choice. Plus, this is probably the last time you can throw a themed party for your soon-to-be adult kid!

The key to creating a theme that teenagers will love is to not go overboard with corny decor or phrases. Instead, revolve the theme around something they love, like their favorite TV show or pop culture moment.

Here are some ideas:

  • Friends theme - “The One Where They Graduate”

  • Harry Potter theme - graduating from Hogwarts

  • Olivia Rodrigo - “Sour” theme

  • Marvel superhero theme

Whether you’re throwing a huge shindig or a casual backyard barbeque, adding a theme to a graduation party is a nice touch!

Personalized “Class of 2022”  Decor

Incorporate some fun “Class of 2022” decor into your party. We love these handmade cups from Etsy! Any extras can be kept as a keepsake. You can also find graduation-themed napkins, straws, cake toppers, and more. Several Etsy shops will customize the items with your graduate’s name, which adds a nice personal element.

Another great Etsy find is this class photo banner. Your guests will love walking down memory lane and seeing a photo of the graduate from each year of school!

Custom Balloon Garland

Nothing says celebrate like a custom balloon garland! They’re perfect for high school graduation parties because you can use your child’s high school colors or the colors of the college they’re heading to in the fall. A balloon garland also makes a great photo opportunity and party entrance.

Sunday Bloody Sunday

We spent Sunday Funday on Rainey Street working with PERIOD’s Sunday Bloody Sunday! The non profit was originally developed because of the lack of menstrual supplies in the homeless community. As stated on their website, the nonprofit’s goals are to give women access to the period products they need to feel confident and clean every menstruation cycle, no matter their income.

photo booth backdrop

As a 100% female funded and operated business, it was an absolute no-brainer to get involved with their Sunday Bloody Sunday bar crawl. The event was hosted by the Austin PERIOD chapter to raise awareness in our community and contribute funds and supplies to Austin’s homeless shelters. There were eight bars involved including: Augustine, The Alibi, Javelina Bar, Lucille Patio Lounge, The Parlor Room, Container Bar, Clive and Lustre Pearl. Each bar served a signature period themed drink of their choice and a portion or all the proceeds were donated to Periods ATX.

selfie station

To maximize the space and crowd we had two selfie stations set up, as well as roaming photography! We partnered with Austin Flower Walls for the selfie station at Lustre Pearl and paired the selfie station at Container Bar with Pop & Drop’s streamer install! This wasn’t the first time we’ve had multiple services at one event, and it certainly won’t be our last! You can check out other events where we had multiple services here and here!

Dance House fitness pop up

Dancing masked as fitness? We’re here for it.

Dance House Fitness is a Houston based dance studio that combines jazz, hip hop, modern dance and ballet in their classes. The owners of the studio found a way to make experienced dancers and rookies feel comfortable in the same space! Although we were definitely the rookies, we enjoyed burning calories and learning choreography to Ariana Grande. #hairflip

The studio rented a space for two days on South Congress and the excitement could not be any stronger. We picked the champagne backdrop for the selfie station to add just the right amount of sparkle and class. We added a custom white overlay with so DHF’s logo really popped!

We’re excited to werk it out again next time they come back to Austin!

Women of Wardrobe Event

As a 100% women owned and operated company, there’s nothing we love more than a chance to network and mingle with other influential women in Austin!

This was the first Women of Wardrobe (WOW) event hosted by Dress For Success Austin this year, designed for women of all industry backgrounds to get to know each other and support the nonprofit’s mission and organization. The event took place at Lustre Pearl, an old converted home turned venue and one of East Austin’s best kept secrets when it comes to entertainment with an outdoor patio.

Inside, the bar was full of quesadillas, sandwiches (we would’ve had 12 if we could, they were THAT good) and bite size cupcakes that didn’t make you feel bad if you had a handful. The hosts handed out goodie bags that were filled with jewelry, makeup, and salon vouchers, all aimed to help women feel and look their best. We loved the rustic interior of the space, we set up our selfie station so the walls were the backdrop and we absolutely loved the vibe. We wanted to keep our overlay minimal, so we used a gradient white and simple logo design. Sometimes less really is more.

We’re already looking forward to the next event!

Feathers & Frosting Cake Tasting Event

Cake for breakfast? Sign us the heck up.

We’ve done two cake tasting events for Danae at Feathers and Frosting, and without fail we always leave with a car seat full of cake on the drive home (most of which won’t make it past the end of the week). We were so excited to be a part of this event and work alongside such amazing vendors. We knew we wanted to use the white brick wall as the photo booth backdrop for our selfie station set up. We’re big supporters fo a sleek and simple aesthetic. Between photos and boomerangs, the boomerangs were the crowd favorite, and guests decided to use the faux cakes as props!
